It is about life in the United Nations in a parallel universe where the Dark Ages of Scientific Repression never occurred, so society is a thousand years ahead of this universe. In this universe, the apocalypse has happened, so the 1.62 billion people left live in an ice age with no ice. The first episode of season 1 was shot in Hamburg, Germany, with the rest of it being shot in Cork, Ireland. Season 2 was shot in Wadowice, Poland, and season three in Pusan, South Korea.
